On-site monitoring of rotenone treatment of Norwegian lakes and rivers. In the fall of 2013 we have for the second time on-site monitored the distribution of rotenone in a Norwegian river that was treated with the non-selective piscicide in order to eradicate the fish parasite. Rotenone occurs naturally in the seeds and stems of several plants, especially within the Fabaceae. The compound has historically been used by indigenous people to catch fish.
